Chelsea Building Products invests in new 228,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania
Chelsea Building Products, which produces PVC window and door profiles, has begun construction on a new manufacturing facility in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The 228,000-square-foot facility will be located within the Commerce Crossing at Westmoreland industrial park, selected for its accessibility to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 70. The site also features a connection to a nearby Southwest Pennsylvania Railroad freight rail spur, allowing raw materials to be delivered directly to the plant.
The facility will house both manufacturing and warehousing operations under one roof, increasing production capacity and operational efficiency. It will include insulated precast construction, 100’x50’ bays in the production areas, 32-foot clear height, 10 fully equipped dock positions, and 10,000-amp electrical service. The building design also allows for a future expansion of approximately 170,000 square feet.
The Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation (WCIDC) supports the project as part of its efforts to boost economic development in the region. The park currently hosts 186 industrial companies employing over 9,100 workers.
ARCO Pittsburgh will provide design-build services for the project, drawing from its experience in constructing millions of square feet in manufacturing facilities nationwide.
